Our take

The UGG + White Mountaineering 805 boots present a compelling option for winter wear, especially with their waterproof and insulated features. The leather upper and wool lining, combined with a wool insole, sound like a very warm and comfortable combination, perfect for cold conditions. The lace-up closure is good for a secure fit. My main point of concern, however, is the leather outsole, particularly for a winter boot labeled as 'hiker' style. While waterproof features are great, a leather outsole on potentially icy or wet winter surfaces might not provide the best grip. For urban winter use or light outdoor activities where traction isn't extremely critical, these could be quite good, but for technical winter hiking, I'd seek a different outsole.
